These black stoneware vessels acted as a sort of study for me to explore a range of iconographic designs associated with Late Mesolithic and Early Neolithic artistic expression, often observed on rock art and ceramic technology across Northern Europe. Within this, one vessel incorporates a face of grief as direct inspiration to designs similarly observed on archaeological ceramic urns located at the Månehøj (Moon-mound) passage grave in Denmark (3000 BCE).

The vessels were fired to 1240°C in an oxidative atmosphere and I used a reactive bronze metallic glaze.
